At Alter Eco, regeneration isn't just about how our cacao is grown - it's about every decision we make from soil to shelf, creating food that restores the planet rather than depleting it.
We're proud to share our 2025 Regeneration Report, highlighting the progress we've made toward building a more resilient, regenerative food system. Despite one of the most challenging years the cacao industry has faced, Alter Eco remained committed to investing in farmers and ecosystems that make our chocolate possible.
Here are just a few of this year's milestones:
- Earned our highest-ever B Corp score of 157.1 - Reinforcing our commitment to people and the planet.
- 598 of our farmer partners are now engaged in regenerative agriculture, with 1,900 acres under regenerative management – a 16% increase over last year.
- Our Swiss chocolate manufacturing partner was ranked #1 Globally on the 2026 Chocolate Scorecard for sustainability leadership.
- Achieved zero air freight for the second consecutive year.
- Launched an Advent Calendar made from 100% recycled and fully recyclable paper materials – no plastic tray!
- Since 2024, through our partnership with rePurpose Global, we’ve recovered 43,232 pounds of plastic.
This year also marked a major step forward in how we measure our environmental impact. By partnering with HowGood, we've adopted a more science-based approach to carbon accounting, giving us greater transparency as we continue improving our products and overall supply chain.
Regeneration and sustainability isn't just one initiative - it's thousands of decisions working together. Every Alter Eco product purchased helps support regenerative agriculture, organic ingredients, responsible packaging, climate-conscious operations, and thriving farming communities.
Our work is far from finished, but we're proud of the progress we've made - and even more excited about what's ahead.
