Sustainable Packaging: A Step Towards Carbon Neutrality

Sustainable Packaging

In today's environmentally conscious world, businesses are increasingly recognizing the importance of sustainable practices, not just as a responsibility but as a competitive edge. At Alter Eco Foods, we are committed to delivering the best tasting products in the most sustainable way possible. One significant aspect of any consumer products company is their packaging. At Alter Eco Foods, we have an unwavering commitment to reduce the impact on landfills and our world's ecosystem by delivering the most sustainable packaging in the industry. In 2013, we introduced a backyard compostable truffle wrapper, the first of its kind in the world. Consistent with this focus, we are now introducing a new 60ct Truffles package that is 100% recyclable, made of 85% recycled material recovered from landfill-sourced paper.

Here are six reasons why this change is not only beneficial for the planet but also aligns with our vision of moving towards carbon neutrality:

  1. Alignment with Carbon Neutrality Vision: Our new packaging comes from a manufacturer that shares our commitment to environmental sustainability. By choosing a partner who prioritizes carbon neutrality, we reinforce our dedication to reducing our carbon footprint and mitigating climate change.
  2. Utilization of Recovered Wastepaper: We partnered with a manufacturer that specializes in recovered wastepaper, a valuable raw material that helps conserve significant quantities of natural resources. By utilizing wastepaper, we contribute to reducing the demand for virgin materials and lessen the strain on our ecosystems.
  3. Energy Efficiency through Co-generation Power Plant: This innovative approach to energy generation not only reduces reliance on fossil fuels but also maximizes energy efficiency. With a system efficiency over 90%, we minimize waste and optimize resource utilization throughout the production process.
  4. Efficient Water Consumption: Water is a precious resource, especially in paper manufacturing. Our partner has demonstrated responsible water management practices, with a freshwater input of less than one-half the amount of water used in traditional paper manufacturing. By minimizing water usage, we contribute to conserving this essential resource for future generations.
  5. Reduction in Paper Usage: Our new packaging boxes are designed to be thinner, resulting in less paper consumption compared to our previous packaging. This reduction in material usage minimizes environmental impact by reducing waste generation and transportation emissions.
  6. FSC Certified Recovered Paper: Our boxes are made of 85% Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified recovered paper, sourced from landfills while maintaining high-quality food-grade standards. This certification ensures that our packaging materials come from responsibly managed forests, promoting biodiversity, and protecting ecosystems. We are proud to include FSC logo on our boxes.

Making this transition to all our 60ct Truffles 100% recyclable packaging boxes represents a significant step towards achieving our goal of carbon neutrality while demonstrating our commitment to environmental stewardship. Together with our partners and customers, we are paving the way towards a more sustainable future, one package at a time. Join us in our journey towards a greener tomorrow.
