Dark Chocolate Swirled Rolls

Here is a perfect recipe for the Holidays!! These delicious dark chocolate swirled rolls are as good as they look. Thanks to Plant and Sprout for the recipe!

INGREDIENTS:

DOUGH:

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 packet yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

FILLING:

  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 chopped Alter Eco chocolate bar

INSTRUCTIONS:

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. In a medium bowl, combine the warm water and yeast - allow this mixture to sit for a few minutes, so the yeast can activate. Once the mixture has formed bubbles (the yeast is working), add in the salt, sugar, oil, and flour. Mix this all together until a dough has formed. Sprinkle your counter with flour, as well as your rolling pin, and place the dough on the counter. Kneed it with your hands a bit, before rolling out into a rectangle, about 1/2 inch thick. Once your dough is rolled out, spread an even layer of the coconut oil, sugar, and chopped chocolate. Then, just roll up the dough into a log and slice it up into rolls, about 1 inch thick. Place these rolls on your baking sheet, and allow them to rise in a warm area for about 15 minutes. In the meantime, preheat your oven to 350F, and then just bake the rolls for around 20 minutes, or until golden.
